Knoebels Amusement Resort (located in Elysburg, Pennsylvania) is America’s largest free admission, free parking, family owned amusement park. Founded in 1926, it is famous for preserving classic, vintage amusement park charm while offering world-class thrills, renowned park food, and family-friendly pricing.

You only pay if you ride. Guests purchase individual ride tickets (which never expire) or weekday unlimited-ride handstamps, making it completely free to just walk around, soak in the atmosphere, or picnic.

Flying Turns: The world’s only modern wooden bobsled coaster, running freely through wooden troughs without a track. It delivers a one of a kind gliding sensation. This ride was the main reason we wanted to go to Knobels. I had heard about it years before and it was on my list of coasters I had to ride. It was so good!

Phoenix: Regularly voted among the top wooden roller coasters in the world, famed for its intense floater and ejector airtime.

Twister: A massive, high-speed wooden coaster modeled after the legendary Mr. Twister. It's an intense, fast, and twisting wooden coaster built in-house, featuring a split double lift hill and massive swooping turns that hug the natural tree line.

Grand Carousel: A historic 1913 carousel featuring hand-carved horses and a traditional working ring machine. Ride on the outside row to reach out and grab the iron and brass rings—catch the brass ring for a free ride ticket!

The Haunted Mansion: A classic, award-winning dark ride filled with traditional stunts, theatrical lighting, and practical effects.

Lusse Auto Skooters (Bumper Cars): Unlike modern low-speed bumper cars, these classic, heavy metal bumper cars hit with genuine force.

There were other rides which were all excellent. The food here was good too. Lots of shaded seating to take a break out of the sun. If you are ever in Pennsylvania, Knoebels is a must visit.
