Hagane
HAGANE is a female Japanese band specializing in power metal and melodic speed metal, established in Tokyo in 2018, with guitarist and main composer Sakura Yoshida at the helm.
Their musical style, described as "Harmonious and Dramatic Hard Rock/Heavy Metal," combines intense neo-classical guitar solos, double-kick drumming, and uplifting, anime-inspired melodic hooks. They are recognized for their high-speed power metal reminiscent of Galneryus, DragonForce, and Lovebites, characterized by Sakura's technical sweeps, dual guitar harmonies, and powerful vocals. The band often performs in bright, colorful stage costumes instead of the typical gothic black metal attire.
They covered Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer," which was the official song of our family back when we played Rock Band. Good times!
Songs like this make me want to see them live in concert. Even more so now that my favorite Japanese drummer, Junna has joined the band. They are on my bucket list.
